By partnering with public schools, school districts and communities, UF Education faculty are working through several college-designated centers and institutes to meet Florida’s varied and fast-changing educational needs. Several of these centers use different approaches and strategies to address the same critical education issue—closing the achievement gap among students of different races, learning capabilities and class distinctions. Though their methods may differ, these centers are all designed to enhance school improvement, student achievement and teacher retention in high-poverty or at-risk K-12 schools. Other centers and institutes address the special education needs of students with learning disabilities or work to advance education and leadership at the community college and university levels.
